Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage Two

The Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage Two is located at Millers Road, Spring Creek, about 12 kilometres north-east of Gatton and 100 kilometres south-west of Brisbane in the Lockyer Valley. Stage Two involves the construction of a new 1,500-cell, high security facility for male prisoners in Gatton.

The Queensland Government declared that this new correctional centre will adopt a ‘health and rehabilitation’ operating model, with the aim of supporting safer communities through enhanced mental health and drug and alcohol rehabilitation services for prisoners, with a particular focus on addressing the ice epidemic and its link to violent and property crime.

Axis Plumbing QLD will deliver the hydraulic services package during over 220,000 man hours over the course of the project, which is inclusive of:

  • Amplification of external services
  • Stormwater drainage and pumps
  • Sewer drainage and pumps
  • Greasewaste drainage and pit
  • Tradewaste drainage and pit
  • Monitored water management system.
  • Infrastructure pipework for onsite sewerage treatment plant.
  • All sanitary plumbing and associated fixtures
  • Fire services water supply, hydrant and hose reel system
  • Prefabricated combined services risers, meters and valves
  • Potable cold water service and pumps
  • Non potable water service, tanks and pumps
  • Domestic hot water service tanks and pumps
